Thought possums were protected in Australia

I saw a hi-viz crew measuring up on the west side of Wakehurst parkway near the entrance to the Possum. I'm hoping they aren't planning to widen the road as per the works closer to Warringah road.

I fear the Possum is on borrowed time. Sad

Bicycle Centre Phillip - ACT

A quick shout out to the Bicycle Centre Phillip: http://www.bikeshed.com.au/ They've done some work for me on my mountain bike recently and I'm very happy with the results.

Might want to check them out if you're looking for, what so far seems to be, a decent mechanic on the South side of Canberra.

Jenny Rissveds ??

There's been virtually no information on why Jenny Rissveds has been out for most of the season. What was the reason?

Expressions of Interest in being filmed

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi everyone,

I am an aerial videographer and I am developing a new way to shoot action sports such as mountain bike riding. I am looking for people in the Sydney and / or Blue Mountains area who would be willing to volunteer their time to be filmed by drone. As thanks, you would get to keep copies of the footage for your own use. It would probably take about a 3 hours or so on a weekend and would simply involve you riding some accessible trails at a convenient location while I film using a drone. We will also conduct appropriate safety briefings beforehand and discuss various logistics.

MTBA looking for member stories

Hi Everyone,

We are wanting to do a series of campaigns surrounding MTBA and becoming a member and we would like to use some stories from people about why and how they became a member.

Obviously we would be looking to people who have a real story to tell whether that they have overcome something very serious in their life and used mountain biking as their wellness tool.

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Today (12.7.2017), I found a set of keys at the start of the service road that runs alongside the Great Western Highway from Barnet St, Glenbrook.

If you think these may be yours, I have handed them into Springwood Police Station.

Decline in Races - What you said?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I'd like to thank all the commentators on the question I asked and I think the outcomes were pretty clear, which I've trapped here. It looks like the end maybe nigh for the fling (see below):
1. Too Expensive (or not enough value)
2. Too many alternative races and places to ride
3. Not enough promotion particularly to younger age groups
4. Not family orientated enough
5. Making a state based series might get some interest back.

So the primary suggestions to the rider are:
1. Dont sweat and go to club races
2. Plan to ride away with friends

2017 trek remedy rsl review

After owning this bike for 6 months i thought i would do a review....
Size is 19.5 and i am 173cm tall, this fits me perfectly although the seatube is a little taller than i would like ,and in the steep stuff the seat can bang me in the arse (????)forcing me foward a little more than i would want, i have remedied (no pun) this by using a 35mm rise bar instead of stock and cutting width to 760mm.
I run the bike in the steeper setting everywhere and the geometry etc feels balanced.overall im happy with sizing and glad i didnt go down to a 18.5.

Found: Mitsubishi Car Key

Firstly thanks to the person who found, then handed in to the corner shop at Terrey Hills, my phone yesterday - it had fell out of my jersey pocket along Long trail. Good Karma heading your way!

When I picked up my phone the guy also had a key for a Mitsubishi - I thought it may have been mine as I drive one but alas it wasn't (spare key was at home).

So...if anyone has lost a key along Perimeter / Long trail recently let me know!

Not sure who has been up to Bright but this beautiful town probably has some of the best mountain and road biking in Australia. The Bright Brewery is sponsoring a charity event in September (www.alfred6hour.org.au) which will be hosted by the Alpine Cycling Club.

Bike choice for Rydal?

Hi Team

I'm staying at Rydal next week and will be taking a bike but wanted to check on what's the best steed for the Rydal MTB trails. Ideally I'd take my crosser so I can do some exploring afar as well but not sure if it will be out of it's depth on the trails down there. How technical are the tracks there?

cheers
