Rob Hillfest + 4 gates = Fun Slight change of plan for this ride. Instead of doing laps of 4 gates we decided to hit the Northern Beaches Hillfest circuit and put in a lap or two at the end if possible. I knew this would come in around 45Km and 1300 vertical plus a single 4...

Were you there and have a story to tell?

I can get to a ride here I have been wanting to check this out in the day so I know whats what with this ride.

May only do two hours though.

Great ride today guys. Many new tracks for me, and some very tough hills. After a couple of weeks off the bike it was prefect training for the doctor.

I would still like to understand what that gate is doing at the wild flower garden though, from what I can see both sides are public right of way.

it a while back, apparently something to do with keeping dogs out of the gardens as there had been a couple of instances of attacks on both people and wildlife.

I haven't been in there since it was locked, can you get through / around it on your own or do you need two people to get your bikes over?

Fantastic ride today I really had a blast good mix of trails and hills and hills and hills thanks for the grand tour Rob.

Hi mrsoldfart

That makes sense, the gate does come down very low, and it explains why there isn't a cycle gap. There is an obvious way past the gate for the determined.
