By trailburner - Posted on 17 February 2011

When:
Saturday, 13 August, 2011 - 09:00
Duration:
12 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Ride Database Entry:
Dargle Farm
Meeting Point:

River Road, Cumberland Reach. From Sackville Ferry Road, heading North about 3.1km then turn right.

-33.454789,150.908289 (Dargle Farm)
Details:

The one and only 12 hour race in Sydney. Listen to what the riders have to say about last year's event and don't miss it in 2011!
My personal highlight was the Red Bull DJ truck paired with a 10m bonfire in the middle of the event centre where kids danced and riders warmed up between laps.
All this coupled with a gem of a track with the best descent into an event centre!

The track fairies were out at Dargle Farm today (Sunday 31 July) cleaning up the track and creating a few new interesting areas (Lynch Pinch, etc). A lap is around 10km and includes loads of wonderfull single track and a few fast valley traverses - and the usual DH into the finish area.

See you there on the 13th!

Hey Martin, is there going to be any catering there?
I am thinking steak and beers after the last lap - as you can tell I am a highly tuned athlete!

trailburner's picture

This just in: every 12 hour rider will receive a free entry to the Banzai LifeCycle Time Trial at Stromlo in September worth $60.

trailburner's picture

There will be catering from The Daily Espressos and as you know we are sponsored by Bernard beer! So food and drinks is well taken care off.

Scottboy's picture

I will be sleeping in the back of the ute with a 3mx3m gazebo with sides on it rugged up of course & a few bourbons after presentation

Lach's picture

would be good if you can keep it like that until about 1.00pm Sunday, 'coz I'm a bit sick of mud after the Husky last weekend Smiling

sun was shining and the track was good ,a few slushy bits (well more than a few)but it was an excellent event with some exciting tussels at the pointy end .

i rode around in a very casual 4 man team, so tried to make the most of my own laps.
ended up doing 6 laps. 4 day laps and 2 night laps.
Was a fun event, good vibe, riders courteous and friendly out on track and did not have any issues with passing or being passed, actually most riders jumped out of the way when i got on there wheel before i even called track. was awesome. Good day out in the sun and a suprisingly fun track.
I tried to go under 30 mins but just couldnt get there, got down to 30.29 being my fasted lap, i think the elites are safe for quite some time yet Eye-wink

the quickest lap

Great day. Did 8 laps solo and pulled up stumps at about 4pm. Nothing left in the tank for night laps. Track was in good condition, got a bit sucky towards the last couple of laps but that was probably more to do with my lack of energy.

Scottboy's picture

the track was in the same condition today , it really got a hammering over the weekend , too all that rode & asked if the marshall was ok thanks . All is good as there are a few with manners & the other riders were in race mode & powered on not really aknowledging you are there , bonfire was there for the night stayers beer was handed out after a rider was finished what more could you ask for in a race after 12hrs ..

tate's picture

I couldn't quite interpret your post, but are you saying the guy who was stretchered out was a marshall??

ps's picture

No one in our team got under 30 minutes either. I think the quickest we got was a craked's 30:20 and a few other 30 minute laps that were just behind yours. Well done.

Scottboy's picture

the guy that got stretched out was definitely not a Marshall, the rider is a nobmobber he was riding for a bike store & doing well till a tree jumped out in front of him ..he hasn't been on this site for a while

Craig Certainly knows how to set the pace on the single track. He is a hard man to beat / catch. How did you fellas go, you must have been close to the pointy end of the field with your team doing 30 min laps.

Only on the downhill bits,we finished 6th in mens 4's on 23 laps pretty happy with that, unfortunately there were not enough over 40 teams so we had to run in open .

Brian's picture

Are the results for this online yet?

craked's picture

yes Brian

CROMERBOY's picture

Hey Craig, where are the results - I can only see 2010 results?
BTW I checked my times down the hill best I got was 48km/hr so you got me there as well!

Brian's picture

Do you have a link as the one below is for previous years?

http://www.rockytrailentertainment.com/events/12...

craked's picture

Brian's picture

I had to Control-R to get them to show.
