I was wondering who is making the tracks between wallabi and old bar, because a few days ago i came across a few log rides and tracks, but the main track that goes from forrest lane to wallabi is cut of bye a fence right at the end. Sad (single track)

if there is a few riders that ride in there please tell me because i might start making tracks in there for you all.

Do you have the Land Managers approval?

It's been over a year since I've ridden there, but the tracks you have discovered are quite old, and are not formal mountain bike trails. They cross National Parks, Aboriginal Land Council and State Forest managed lands.

In fact, they are nearly all fauna trails and the modifications have for the most part been intentionally restricted to cutting through fallen trees that have blocked the trail.

Local riders have been particularly careful to mask the entrances and exits to these trails, especially next to fire roads due to their sensitivity, to prevent their discovery and over-use.

In particular, the threat of Motocross riders finding and destroying the trails by riding them (and consequently ripping them) up is very serious. The amount of damage these guys can do in a very short period of time has to be seen to be fully appreciated, and this is the reason much of the singletrack you'll have found seems to peter out and stop in blank bush about 30m short of fire road intersections. The impact on wildlife if the motos got in there ... well, let's not go there. Sad

So can I ask a favour? The good news is you have some awesome alternatives available to you.

If you really want to help (and it sounds lke you do Smiling ), take the short trip over the other side of the highway and join the Manning-Great Lakes Tip riders. They have an authorised singletrack network that is pretty impressive, and would really welcome an enthusiastic trial fairy such as yourself. Smiling

By over the highway I think Hawkeye means the western side, ie the tip side.
