Details:

In 2013, the Brownie Points Burner will be raced on Sunday the 25th of August. Yes we tried a 2 day event there previously and its bombed, but so do the trails. Evil climbs and epic descents plus the much mentioned Taree Tip Riders Trails.

We hope you've been saving your brownie points lately, because this is one marathon race you don't want to miss.

At only 80km we didn't set out to make the hardest XCM course, but rather the best. One that would use all the gears on your bike and all of your suspension. We ended up with an epic mix of singletrack, double track and some 4wd track for recovery while making the most of the famed Taree Tip Trails and with more climbing than any other XCM course at 2700 metres.

"These trails are really, really, really good."
Chris Southwood, Flow Magazine (talking about the Taree Tip Trails during Singletrack Mind race at Taree)

Hosted at the idyllic Clarendon Forest Retreat, 3.5 hours north of Sydney, the Brownie Points Burner will take participants on a single loop around the Kiwarrak State Forest and Talawahl Nature Reserve. Test your skills and stamina on the full distance or enjoy the slightly less taxing half. Both distances include a loop around the famed Taree Tip Trails.

So racing is not your thing or blown the race budget already ? Too much time helping at the soup kitchen or digging trails then enter the competition to win a Merida Big Nine Carbon XT bike, Lezyne race pack, accommodation and entry fee to the race.

Really looking forward to this one - a new race on the calendar, on new tracks. Sweet.

I landed home from a holiday of cocktails, food, and sunbathing - so I expect this will hurt even more than the details suggest!
I'd better get some riding done between now and then!!!

Cant wait - see you all there.

After loosing 7kgs, I seem to be going up hills faster!
Funny that!

GAZZA you've got to do this one and take advantage of being 7kg lighter.

Will talk Martine into coming up with me.

Having both the Kowalski and Fling scheduled the weekends before my exam periods, I have to have one event that I know I can definitely make!

Did anyone see the balloon prizes. Also, first aid kit mandatory...

Will head off midmorning tomorrow, hopefully spend some time around the track getting to know it before the MASSIVE day on Sunday. 2.7km of km is pretty darn excessive, but I reckon we're all crazy enough to try it. I'll be the (only?) guy in the Turramurra racing kit, come say hi before I destroy myself out there Eye-wink

Good luck to all who are competing. Tristan, you'll smash it for sure - I know this because I've seen how you ride up hills! And armed with that new bike there will be no stopping you.
