Fun times. This after just 18km on these 26" AM wheels, and I only weigh 64kg.

The video.

Jump at ~1min.

How did it happen?
Top section of Scorpion on the Kalamunda Circuit. If you can call them jumps, landed one a bit nose heavy, and when the rear came down there was a mighty crack.

Specs for bikes

Gday

I am wondering if there's an online resource for the exact specs for bikes?

I have a Giant 29er Talon and I love the bike except the fork is rubbish. I just ride easy xc stuff etc so I don't need a beefy fork, but shopping online is hard when you are unsure of the type of steerer and headset set up required to upgrade the fork. I would prefer to do it myself as I find that as much fun as riding, if not more.... ☺

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Chain Guide or Bash Guard

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I converted my AM bike into 1x10, put a narrow wide chain ring, install a type 2 derailleur then shorten the chain. Riding on a rocky section, i often suffer a chain drop and ended up placing it back and ruining the momentum. Mostly riding in KC during the weekend.

What you guys suggest, chain guide or bash guard?

Any help would be much appreciated.

bought a giant trance advanced 0 2 months ago love the bike but playing around with settings after its first service i now notice that the lock out feature docent work.

did a bit of research and found another guy has had this fault twice in 4 weeks both times warranted but you have the 2 week turn around on your fork

anyone else had any problems with this fork also can't find any info on set up for the rebound and compression

Refunds from Cape to Cape

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Anybody had any problems getting refunds from Cape to Cape people? I had to withdraw my application to ride due to injury and was advised I would get a refund up to 60 days from completion of ride, which has well and truly passed.I email them, no reply...I call and get advised it will be in the bank..but no cigar. Riding this year, not likely....

Fox suspension oil selection

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi guys, I am after a bit of advice.
I need to replace the seals and dust wipers on my 2008 fox talas 32 forks, I called my LBS which have a seal kit to fit, however it is only compatible with the new fox 20wt gold oil. Fox says this oil should never be used with open bath damped forks (which mine are), however the mechanic says his forks are open bath and he runs this oil.

Can anyone weigh in on their opinion/experience, do i order in the older seal kits and use 10wt oil or put in the new seal kit and 20wt oil and ignore fox.

Cheers for the help

Cheap Ant + head unit

Looking for a cheap ant+ head unit that will pickup wahoo speed and cadence sensor and Ant + heart rate monitor. Doesn't have to be GPS enabled or able to map the ride or anything like that but would like to be able to see HR, speed, cadence, time on the one screen.
