Stolen Jekyll

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Brendan L had his Cannondale Jekyll 1000 stolen out of his shed while he was away.

If anyone spots it feel free to kick the guy in the nutts and let us know.

The bike is a Large, mat black in colour and has a head shock instead of the lefty.

Stolen: Cannondale Rush Team Issue

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

We often talk about bike insurance, garaging, etc. here and like most I always think things are pretty safe. Turns out they are not Sad

Sometime this week someone walked past all the cameras in our building and through 2 security doors, cut through a Kyrptonite Cable and walked out with my Cannondale Rush. They left the Yeti (probably because the fork is being serviced and wasn't attached to the bike) and Pratiwi's Trek hardtail.

I've spoken to the building manager and am hopeful of getting some mug shots of the b@stards who did this.

Carbon Fibre Paint Job

Carbon Fibre Paint Job

After the Epoxy a primer surfacer is applied, dried and sanded with p600 then white 2pak paint was applied. This will form the colour for the branding. (sticker look-a-like) More pics to come......when the job is finished. I'm sure the owner will be over the moon. It will look like a Cannodale Super Six in White and Black.

Carbon Fibre Paint Job Carbon Epoxy Primer

Very important part of the process, without this layer of Epoxy primer, primers fillers/surfaces, colours (basecoat) won't stick to the carbon fibre.

Carbon Fibre Paint Preparation

Factory Paint - this frame has scratches, paint peeling and chips.

Carbon Fibre Paint Preparation

Original paint rubbed off with p600 grit sandpaper. The idea is to remove the original paint, scratches, and lower the paint levels for the new layers. Only the clear coat, black, orange and white is required.

Electronic Suspension

Just found this:

http://www.declinemagazine.com/Nucleus/index.php...

Pretty cool but could do with the following enhancements:

1. The same joystick needs to alter settings for both front and rear shock to the conditions chosen.
2. It needs linking to a GPS and to remember when you change settings on the first lap of a circuit. Then automatically change for you for the rest of the day.

Eye-wink
