Gun Club track

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Can who ever has been removing vegetation and straightlining the corners at the top of the Gun Club track please stop.

The Straight lines are lame and unnecessary. There are some delicate ground orchids that grow alongside the trail so it gets a bit of scrutiny and the unnecessary work will reflect bad on the club even though I doubt it was club members who did it.

Any way pass the word. Removing vegetation on any of the trails on Hassans walls is not on.

Maintain the trails we have rather than putting in new ones.

LOST keys @ Kinross forest

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I've lost the keys to my bike rack and I'm reasonably sure the last time I had them was at the carpark off Bulgas Rd.

I think I've either dropped them there or they've come out my pocket when I stacked it on the North Shore section.

If anyone comes across them, can you contact me through here.

It's annoying as this is the first time I've used the rack and I'd not separated the spare keys yet and lost the lot. Sad

Thanks, Pete

Turon Gates

Hi There

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on where to ride around Turon Gates (preferably from close to the camping ground).

Cheers

Access to Kinross Sat/Sun 24/25 May 2014

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Just a note to everyone heading out to Kinross this weekend (24 and 25 May 2014).

Construction of the Macquarie Pipeline is happening on Bulgas Road between Orange and Kinross over the next few days, so either be prepared for some delays or head into Kinross the back way (via Banjo Patterson Way).

It's likely there will be some roadworks etc there for the next week or two, but the majority of work (and delays) will occur this weekend.

Heading out west

I'm heading out around Orange for two nights over easter, weather permitting with the bike.

The places to ride on the list, according to the trail DB, look like Back Yamma, Kinross and Lidsdale SFs. Rydal looks interesting as well.

Is there anything that I've missed and does anyone have any suggestions as to what is most worthwhile (in case I don't have time to go to them all?)

Orange/Kinross this weekend?

Hello All,

I'll be in Orange this weekend and would love it if someone would like to show me around Kinross State Forest. I won't have a car but could ride out to the trail head and meet there.

No ctmbc dh clubbie for March

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Sorry guys but despite best efforts to juggle stuff around I've got swamped this month and have a bunch of family commitments therefor can't run the march clubbie. With interschools, nationals and all the rest I haven't got any one able to cover it.

Real sorry about that but catch you all in April

mt canobolas allmountain/gravity trails

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi guys heard there were some longer gravity runs on mt. canobolas. I'm based in dubbo but will be in Orange Sat the 22/02. I have rode Kinross a lot but never canobolas. I have a gravity enduro event comming up and I am keen to get some training in. I would appreciate any advice to steer me in the right direction or i can even provide a vehicle to shuttle if needed. Cheers

Look who's turning 30: a Bit of History

Hopefully Watto doesn't mind me reposting but when he linked me in on the book of faces and JohnH added a few of his own I realisied the 2014 marks the 30th year for the Central Tablelands Mountain bike club.

We formed way back in April 1984. I think it was us and Hunter become the first stand alone mountain bike clubs in the country, with a few road clubs such as Manly having an "off road" division.

any hoo a bit of local history, some old faces, most of who still ride with us from (not that far) back in the day.
