Is anyone up for a night ride on July 4th? If its any consolation because of all the bad weather we have been having it is that the days are getting longer then we can pack away the lights for another season... soon... ish .. not really...

as I still haven't tested the Ay Ups, what route you planning?

Should be free that night. Any other options than the usual Terrey Hills? Nothing wrong with that but would be interested in trying something else in the darkness.

hi lorrie,

i'm pretty interested. i haven't done a night ride before though (in fact i haven't been on a nob mob ride yet); can you tell me a bit more about what to expect? meeting time, pace, duration, light requirements, location?

good times,

mark.

Hi Mark,

Be Afraid be Very Afraid!
Our weekly night rides usually encompasses the Terry Hills and Garrigal National Park areas (see our maps section).
We meet in the carpark of Terry Hills Tavern.
Most night rides start at 7:00 / 7:30 and can take at least two hours.
The pace is getting quicker by the year but we still stop for regular regrouping so if you can ride 20km then you will be fine.
The light requirements are important; we have had people join us with lights less bright than an itty bitty book light. As an example of what you need tape a dolphin torch to your handle bars, that’s the sort of beam you need to safely ride trails at night.
Looking forward to you joining us,
Btw we also, at the end of the ride, sneak into the Tavern for a Social Ale!

See Ya

Greg
