Bloody Leaches hate aftershave

INTRO

I back a large lush damp forest and have been doing some trail 'exploring'. I get leaches on me quite a bit so I normally go well prepared:

-Full length KingGees tucked deep into long white socks
-White socks so you can see the bastards trying to find a safe way to climb up to some flesh
-Sock protectors - these help heaps. I have had leaches attach through socks
-Steel capped ankle high boots sprayed/soaked in Rid (seems to work better than other brands I have tried)
-Bucket hat - stops you thinking you have something in your hair every time you walk through a web and helps protects from rain and ticks (nastier than leaches)

Leaches can detect carbon dioxide and heat. Next time you see a leach blow on it and watch it get excited.

TODAYS STORY

So, I come back home soaked in sweat and rain and mud after a fairy meeting. Normal routine. Enter Rumpus room, start stripping off on the big old rug down there near the door. Boots, sock protectors, socks, pants, shirt. Hmmm clean again. Upstairs, "Hi I'm back" (standing in my boxers). Look at the little twins in their cot (7 weeks old - born 4 weeks premature = very cute boy and girl). Enter bathroom, check myself in mirror (i have had them on all sorts of places in the past).

BANG!! one of the little bastards is on my inner bicept. Thats twice there now, they love that spot. They must get on the shirt and then just climp in under the shirt just enough to out of site and latch on.

Little F&*^kers!! So I rip it off and there it is on the floor, alive. I have no salt in the bathroom so I get out the Listerine and start to pour a bit in the cup-lid thing wondering if this will hurt it. Hurts me, must hurt them! Then I have a thought "Aftershave". So I put down the Mouthwash and spay on some aftershave. Well.. the little bastard just gave it up straight away. Much faster than I have seen with anything else, and I've killed lots of leaches.

It's got me thinking, the net does not have very good info on leaches. I might collect some and do some evil testing to find out what they really do hate! Disgusting little suckers!
