The Dam

Has anyone ridden the dam in the last couple of days?

I'm getting a new bike thursday and was keen for a few laps.

I expect it is still a swamp though.

The trail fairies respectfully request you refrain from riding until it has a chance to dry out.

Judging by the amount of standing water sitting on the nature strip in my street this morning, which is a couple of hundred metres from the northeast trailhead, a snorkel is currently required.

I'd say a week of sunny windy weather is needed, minimum.

If you're really desperate to get sand and grit in.the smallest recesses of your new steeds brakes and drive train, Duck Holes and Centre are usually the driest option. Being a 4WD trail there is no angst about wet riding.

What did you get?

Officially closed according to the Manly dam MTB section of the Warringah council site at http://www.warringah.nsw.gov.au/play/manly-dam-m... . Please stay away atleast until officially open which is something that the rangers will appreciate.

Hey Steve,

Epic Expert World Cup. It's Sick - Carbon fest. If I'm not fast now I'll have to give up, shave my legs and take the roadie seriously. This weighs about the same anyway.

Nice one. If it ever dries up we will have to get out for a thrash.

Sounds good - Onto that - but you'll never catch me because I'm going to get flame stickers for it!
