Details:

On 13 December 2014 SNORC is hosting the Old Man’s Valley Bike Festival. The festival will bring a full day of racing for all levels to the popular Hornsby Mountain Bike Trail in Northern Sydney.

In the morning the Hornado cyclocross race will traverse fire roads, meadows, singletrack and possibly the steepest on foot run-up in Australian history! In the middle of the day cross country riders will test themselves on a course which includes some of Old Man’s Valley’s best singletrack, with categories for beginners through to elites. The day will close with the uniting of the full face helmet brigade and the knights in white lycra in the Bomber/Whippet Relay, a one lap time trial in which the first rider descends from the top of the valley and tags off at the bottom to a teammate who climbs back up. The festival will also include bike demos and a fundraising barbecue.

Proceeds from the festival will be divided between SNORC’s trail building activities and the Hornsby Kuring-gai Women’s Shelter.

How awesome is this!
Half the proceeds go the the local women's shelter
Well done SNORC
I reckon this says a lot about the type of people MTB'ers are
As opposed to how many people perceive us to be

All the hoo ha before this trail was built
I wonder how many of those people will admit they were wrong
Let alone how many put their hands in their pocket to help out anyone except the person renovating their house
