97 Had a great day today. Take out the stop for the helicopter which was 8 minutes and 51 seconds (for me) my time was 2 hours 37 minutes and 48 seconds. Had issues with the first 10 kays getting the heart rate to register. The hardest part for me was the walk up that enormous hill. I have never come across anything like that before.
Andy, I was actually parked next to the guy you ran over and met him on the way out. He said he hit a pot hole that caused him to crash. He also felt bad about causing you to crash and looking at the state of him he will feel much worse tomorrow.
PS. I left early to beat the queue at the ferry but it still was a 1.5 hour wait in the queue.

Man, that wait for the ferry sucks. We got on just before 5 (was it 5, Liam) after less than 30 mins wait.
Well done on your first 50 though, Brian. I was sorry to hear about the accident that backed up all the 50Km riders.
... the guy who caused the crash should have a black tyre mark on his helmet from my back wheel, all I could see was him falling over to me and I moved more to the right and he just missed me, when I looked down all I could see his helmet next to my back wheel....
Then I look back to see if he is ok and see Andy in flying mode!!!!
I hope the guy is ok, was he able to finish the race?

Poor bugger. I was a bit flustered and a bit pissed off at the time so I didn't really look at him. I just remember him saying sorry a lot.
I completely ran him over at full unsealed road speed. I hit him really hard.
My ribs are a little sore this morning and I was thinking I bet he's got some good bruises and a lot more pain than me.
Great race though. My computer wasn't working so not sure, but you were behind me Brian, so I reckon 10 minutes wait for the heli. So that'd be about 2.42. Happy with that.
