Trauma cover for us headbangers

Hi All, not wanting to be the harbinger of doom, but the reality is we participate in a high risk sport.

I'm trying to find out if anyone can recommend or has used a specific trauma cover for bikers during races or training, that cover the usual sort of potential damage like head trauma etc?

Thanks

Hi All!

Has anyone come across anyone using an OFFROAD HANDCYCLE in Perth or Australia in general?

Most of you won't know what an offroad handcycle is or looks like, so check out the picture I have attached. There are different variations but this is the most robust design and price I have found on the market (Poland).

Simply speaking, its a tricycle primarily for those with no, or limited leg function. I broke my back 4 years ago MTB in QLD and will be getting one of these beasts mid 2013 and hitting the tracks again before my 5 year mark.

Bike insuarance - certainly worth it

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

About two weeks ago my 2010 Anthem X2 was stolen whilst staying at a caravan park. Luckily I had it insured and after several phone calls I received a cheque today from my insurance company to buy a new bike from my LBS. All in all it was an easy process and I would recommended that if you can insure your bike.

For those interested it was listed as a specified portable item ($13 per month) on my contents policy with QBE.

Riding in Adelaide

I'll be down in Adelaide for a couple of days next month with some friends. We were wondering about renting bikes and riding some dirt one day while we're there. Does anyone have any experience with any of the local MTB parks, eg Eagle Park or Lynton? Are they easy to get to from the CBD? What are the trails like? Can we rent bikes? Any input appreciated.

Hr long Cape to Cape doco available for download

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

The makers of last years Cape to Cape MTB doco have made it available free to download the full length doco (not the cut down version shown on SBS).

Options include a variety of picture quality up to the 3GB high definition version.

I would recommend the next one down which is only 800mb.

Simply grab a beer and go to
http://vimeo.com/46177603

and enter the password: ZUBINI DOCO

If that is too hard, I've burn a handfull of the doco onto DVDs. If you see me taking snaps at the Cape to Cape I'll have a couple in my camera bag.

MTB in Tassie

The wife and I are off to Tasmania for a ten day road trip in a couple of months time and I'm allowed to take my bike Smiling

Has anyone done any rides over there that they could recommend or have any links to websites showing trail maps? The Tassie Trails site seems to be a good place to start but there are very few gps traces.
