On my recent holidays in Victoria I decided to give Redhill mtb park in the Mornington area a bash out . The guys in the area have done a beauty of a job building marking out & grading the trails . I rented a new 27.5 duelly from Melbournemtbhire & picks it up sat arvo from freewheeling cycles in rosebud . Bash out on the sunday morning fir 4 solid hrs . Locals gave e the heads up on their favourite trains . Great job

Buller Accom

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Planning a Mt Buller excursion with the fam + friends to Mt Buller over Easter. Some initial googling to find places to stay points me to a place called Mansfield but it is 35ks from Buller but that seems excessively far away. Are there better options?

Looking for something reasonably civilised that has a roof, walls and some form of device to keep the beers cold.

Would appreciate advise from Buller riders who knows the area.

Also climate, been to Thredbo in December and that was colder than what I thought, is end of March "safe" or is it getting a bit late in the season?

Cheers,

Mt Buller

So im down at Mt Buller for the summer season, and Buller is everything that they say it is.!2kms yesterday down Delatite trail, fast and flowing what a blast!I rode Copperhead on my Fat Bike,so it shows that you dont need rear suspension to do the trails here(though i am doing most of them on a 160mm travel trek slash). The cross country loops (gang gangs and 1 tree hill start right out of our front door.If anyone is thinking on coming down over summer i would be happy to show you around.

Bendigo

I've been riding Bendigo for a few days now and it's great, more good single track around here than you can poke a stick at.

Ballarat

Just finishing up in Ballarat had a great time riding the local trails, which aren’t well sign posted so local knowledge is a must. I can recommend Cyclescape (Trek) and Gove Cycles (Specialized) as great places to get some inside info on the local trail network.

The XC tracks about the place are a work in progress and currently local riders are working on formalising the trails, so don't expect world class groomed trails; however, it's still worth a look if travelling through the area.

Bright

Down in Vic riding the trails in and around Bright having a blast. Great place to visit and the town is very MTB rider friendly.

I'm finished in Bright now and heading to Ballarat. Bright is a great place to ride, I stayed at the Bright Holiday Park, which isn't too bad and the XC trails start right at the park.

There is plenty of single track to ride, I did about 50kms all up over three days and I also did about 120km of Rail Trail riding.

Albury/Wodonga

I'm off to Vic for a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone has ridden the trails around Albury/Wodonga recently and if you have what are they like, any good?

Mt Buller "shuttle" and time

We're spending two weeks in Mt Beauty in March and want to head across to Mt Buller for a couple of days. As well as the trails on top of the hill, we'll ride the Epic trail. It sounds as though a few people on here have ridden there recently. Can anyone tell me if there is any way of getting back up to Mt Buller on a weekday? The "BlueDirt" shuttles only run on weekends. Also, how long does the Epic take to ride?
