Saturday morning 12th Sep - any takers?

I've finally managed to get another MTB after having a roadie for a few years and it's about time to start exploring the Sydney tracks.

I'll be a bit rusty, and I'm not 19 anymore, so you should get a load of free entertainment thrown in with the ride.

A bit of XC somewhere remotely close to Ryde would be good. Then again I guess "close" probably ranges from Hornsby to Manly to Menai, eh.

I know Cascades, etc is closed this weekend, so where else is good for a middle-aged fart getting back on the saddle?

If you want to travel & a easy ride you can try Loftus RNP , Heathcote ride ? It doesn't get any cruisier than that

It'd need to be pretty early, 'coz I need to be back in Ryde by about 11. Hence I was thinking somewhere a bit closer. But it would be good if anyone's up early enough to show me round.

I'm happy to do a b it more technical stuff too, just out of practice is all...

One of the easiest rides to get back into it on would be the old favourite Perimeter + Long at Terrey Hills. 22km return - all firetrail. Or shorter if you start at the Japanese School.

RNP as suggested is further but has some parts that are more fun. Although it's easier to miss something or get a bit lost.

Thanks Rob.

Perimeter & Long it is at 9am.

Looking at the map, most of it seems pretty straight-forward. The only bits that look "tricky" are where the Wilkins and Cowan tracks branch off. I guess neither matters too much, 'cause it'd still be a great ride...

Let's see if I can figure out the ride meeting next, eh...

Don't worry - there are gates across these you can't get lost. The Long Track turn off is signposted too.

Enjoy... I'll be packing for the doctor!

If you know the area at all will tag along if you like , just let me know where to meet you if it is not too wet or raining
