Let's talk about that here:

Cheers! Smiling

The first climb up from Wrights Creek is about 1.5 kms at a grade of 11%! Shocked To put this in perspective Awaba Street in Mosman is about the same grade but shorter distance at 600m and its paved obviously.

The Woomerah range climb is more gentle about 4kms at about 5-6% grade which is the same grade as Parriwi Road Mosman but Parriwi is only 1.3kms.

Really interesting to see these side by side like this, it would be great to see other semi-local ride hills compared as well. If you ever add any others let us know!

kiwiboy's picture

so that makes 39, although we may be pulling back to the 50km.

Am a newbie entered in the 100k. Any Nobmob entrants gathering in some particular place up there? The day before the race or on the morning. Am on my ownsome so would be nice to meet up with other locals.
Cheers, Tim

Rob's picture

Yeah, always the plan, we normally have a nice gathering and some good banter the evening before.

Will start a new thread on meeting up and carpool closer to the date.

The weather forecast has certainly brightened up since last time I looked. BOM shows no signs of rain for the next week, including Sunday at the moment. Hope I'm not speaking to soon, this is exactly what the track needs. Now all they need to do is clear those fallen trees....

Hey guys,

I scored my self an entry for the 100km.

Has anyone done this before and know what kind of a time to expect so I can work out how much food drinks to take etc.

Unfortunantly I have to race in the open category Shocked which is 16-29yrs so I'm looking for maybe a top 30 should be happy (in my category).

Nice score Alex! Last year's results (same course we are told) are here:

http://www.maxadventure.com.au/dirtworksclassic/...

Male Elite winner: 4h10m34s, 20th: 5h13m12s
Male Open winner: 4h58m15s, 20th: 5h52m15s

The way you were riding on the weekend I'd hope you can come in under 6 hours. Erm... just eat and drink a bit, OK? Eye-wink

I'm sure there will be plenty pep talks on Saturday - you could try and follow Steve, just not down the rough stuff!

For those doing the 50km and planning to turn up on Sunday morning allow plenty of time to get there, there is a State DH race out at Del Rio and the Bridge to Bridge Water-ski Race on so the Ferrys will probably get very congested.

The same on the way back home, all the more reason to kick back in the beer garden and enjoy the last rays of sunshine on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon.

LadyToast's picture

Add to that the Ferry's stopping between 9-12am (I think - It's on the form anyway).

Still nervous about riding over that canoe bridge...

Hi,

I was wondering if people have decided where they wanted to camp. It would be great to everyone camping in the same area.

Nigel

Damien's picture

I will be camping dont know where yet was going to wait untill Saturday and see what the deal was though I know a bunch of the guys arent going to be camping.

RaceLeader's picture

How good was the Dirt Works this year! Man, I had the best time - even managed to stay on the bike!

We need photos...

RaceLeader's picture

What the hell is Gun Time anyway?!

My clock was consistent with the Net Time - I will stick with that time.

nh's picture

I think the gun time is the time from when the gun went to when you crossed the finish line.

The net time is the time from when you crossed the start line to when you crossed the finish line.

People further back in the pack will take a wile to cross the start line after the gun goes so the net time will be faster.

My net time matched my timing of the race.

nh

RaceLeader's picture

My Gun Time was 10 minutes different to my Net Time - I know I am slow, but that is a bit too much!

My trip computer was consistent with the Net Time - I am not sure what the story is.

Rob's picture

I've spoken to them about this. Some tags failed to register when you crossed so they gave everyone the first start time. If you complain to Henry he'll have it fixed on the list.

Carlgroover's picture

did you record RaceLeader? So I've got some idea how fast the riding in the DVD is.
Cheers John.

Carlgroover's picture

That makes my time 5h 17min with a flat, I'll have to go under 5 hours next year now. Smiling
