Agree with the previous update. Perfect. The trail fairies have done a great job of keeping the track clear of deadfall and the bridges are looking solid. Plenty of snakes out too!

Don't say that!

I normally see a 'roo hopping off into the distance but I've never seen a snake. Do they move out the way, or are they off to e side?

Yesterday I nearly ran over one. I didn't see it until it started moving and at that point I saw it at the bottom of my vision below me! There are always red bellies on that track. 5 is the most I've seen on one ride out there including a huge one lying across the track that wouldn't move no matter how close I got (without hitting it) throwing sticks.

I've heard of browns being around the first little bridge and also the gas pumping station area, but I've never seen them. I have seen a blue tongue lizard at the pumping station.

On another note, I've never made it up the far side of the first bridge/creek crossing on the way out, but I did make it up the far side again on the way back at the same crossing!

I'll keep an extra eye out for snakes next time.

Well done for getting up that bank, is that the going straight up or going round the really right switch backs? (or an I thinking of the wrong crossing)

Correct crossing. I don't think I could make it straight up. I go up around the switch back.

Generally snakes will slither off if you leave them alone. Pythons are pretty docile and red-bellies will only bite if given no other choice.

Except for browns. If they're in the middle of the track, find another route. They are aggressive will go you if you get too close.
