Green/Open

Very much green/open as of this afternoon. I think riders had issues this morning when there would have been a bit of due around on the wood sections. I think the trail drains really well as I didn't come across any muddy/boggy puddles that can be found on other trails in sydney at the moment. I would even argue that riding the trail in its present condition would do less wear and tear than if the trail was bone dry and dusty as the moisture is holding the soil together really well. Maybe early morning might have a due factor on the wood sections??

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

We rode the track this morning around 8.30am

The first two laps were terriable. Most of the wood ladders had a layer of wet dirt on them which made them like ice.

My the end of the 5th lap it had dried out enough to push harder.

It would of been perfect this afternoon!

Its such an awesome track. I came off the wooden stuff and hit the dead tree on Turkey Royal at around 9;30. Bit of damage but no broken bones. The track itself was so grippy.....just the wet wooden ramps....sooooo slippery.

Spoke to Campbell, SNORC member, he said a few people had complained about it. I suggested adding chicken wire like I have seen on other tracks to help with grip in the wet.

I take responsebility for my own actions. I'm not complaining. However I'd be estatic if hey did something like that.

Total agree StanTheMan.

I saw a young kid come off one of them becuase of the lack of grip.

I think it would be best for all involved if they throught about a bit of chicken wire on the wood where a change of direction is needed.

Lots of riders can only get out early in the day so I guess the traction on the wood needs to be addressed. The problem with chicken wire is it's very high maintenance, not to mention when it starts to rip away from the wood and spikes up it becomes quite a different hazard. I don't think improving grip on just the corners is enough as braking before corners will still send the front sliding out. Not sure what the answer is but the boys from Synergy i'm sure are on to it. Anyway, how good is it to have trails this good so close to sydney!!!!!!!!!!!

What I meant darrenjm1 is that there are alot of straight timber bridges at OMV that dont cause any problems at all.

The bridges that need addressing are the ones you are turing on. There are 2 in particular that caused alot of problems yesterday.
Everyone was talking about and having trouble with the same 1-2 bridges.

road OMV yesterday arvo.
There had been some light showers during the day.
It was a bit damp & slippery on the woodwork & rocks.
Actual trail was quite good & seems to hold up well to light rain with good drainage.
A few small puddles around the edges.

Really need to take it easy on the woodwork after any rain or due as it lacks any grip.
Would call the trail amber as of Monday afternoon.
