Manly Dam update for 07 Mar

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Just back from a ride. I'm calling it amber. Some puddles and groundwater flowing but overall not too bad. Amazing what a few dry days will do.

As an aside, has anyone been stupid enough to do a lap of the Dam without a helmet? Cause I just did... Doh!

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

I would be inclined to say it is green now. Nothing of major concern and what a beautiful day for a ride. But can someone help me out, I decided to try add the bantry bay trail to my ride and crossed wakehurst at the gate and then turned left, followed fire trail for a while and then was pleasantly surprised with what seemed to be some very fun single trail only to my dismay I think I ended up on a walking track called hikers or something. Are you meant to turn right? Where do you go?

... its been so long i've forgotten where it is! Bantry Bay is still closed to riding as far as i know. Expected to change but timing is unknown.

Better to stay out until the reroutes are done... riding over aboriginal heritage sites as a number of the trails do is one sure way to piss influential stakeholders off and screw up all the hard work thats been done to get Nat Parks open to mtb again.

Simon may chip in with an update... i'm a bit out of the loop due to work demands

Oh thanks. I figured riding there was still ok as you see quite alot of people come out of that gap. Just stick to do double laps i guess.

Once you turn left after crossing the Parkway and follow that firetrail/single track it ends up at Seaforth Oval. Once there, I wouldn't keep following the track as it's for walkers. There's no 'No bike' signs or anything though so I'm not too sure what the official status of that bit after the oval is.

The out and back to Seaforth Oval though is a bit of fun and something that can mix up relentless laps of the Dam.

Hi all

For now the only place we can ride is on firetrail in Bantry Bay. Even one of the well used walking tracks does not officially exist and runs straight across carvings.

Hoping to update everyone soon on Bantry Bay and Stringybark.

If it goes ahead as planned will be an epic 20k loop when added to a Manly Dsm
Lap... And it'll go through my backyard so easy to get to!
