Amber/Some Issues

I rode from Jubes to Stonecrop Rd this morning along the fire trail via Clissold Rd and came back via what some call the pipeline track that branches off to the left at the concrete bridge, then runs past Samuel King oval and eventually via some single track to McCrae Place. While it is still rideable be aware that the earth movers have been in and made a mess in many places. Looks like they have more work to do so could be dodgy for a while.

New rough concrete at the base of the climb up to the pipeline track. Was blocked with yellow barriers, but concrete was set hard enough to ride on. They've bulldozed a fair amount of this trail towards Samuel King oval and some parts are pretty sketchy. Loadsa grip, but very boring.

Elsewhere just watch out for patches of loose sand that weren't there before, lumpy sections where the bulldozer's tracks haven't been smoothed out yet, some badly cut up ground and general boredom with any "character" widened and flattened to within an inch of it's existence.

Yep rode from Grosvenor st through to the singletrack today and wow what a difference the heavy machinery has done there. The challenging ascent to the pipeline trail has been ruined as well as numerous other sections on the nth turra trail Sad At least the singletrack was in good nick with the obligatory brush turkey to keep you company.

All is not lost though - my ride this morning also included OMV stage 2 and I must say that was amazing!

I hope you didn't ride all of OMV stage 2 as it isn't open yet and won't be until the 7th. The new climb from where Turkey royal spat you out at the junction of the beginer loop up to the old single track climb is open and OK to ride but AFAIK the rest is still closed so please STAY OFF IT!

Kitt - As someone who observes closed trails signs etc I can assure you that the stage 2 blue loop is open for riding. Signage has been put in place directing riders to the loop and there is no bunting or 'closed trail' signs across the entry.

Yep the 'official' council opening is the 7th June.
